CATHY'S THOUGHTS ON:

THE JAMS BOARD

"I had been searching the web on and off for two years looking for anything pertaining to UB40, with no results. By the time I found my way to the Jams Board I was convinced that there were no other die-hard UB fans like myself. What a relief to find I wasn't the only one! It’s a great place to get information on the band and to keep in touch with other UB40 fans. Thanks to all the people involved in keeping the board alive, including those who take the time to type out even the teeniest bits of info. I also have to say that people on the board are just about the friendliest I have met on-line."

UB40

"What an outstanding group! They have talents that reach out in so many different directions, and I’m amazed that they’re still at it after all this time. I think there's a lot to be said for a group of people that worked their way up to become independently-labelled, self-taught, extraordinary musicians."

BEING A UB40 FAN

"I became a fan of UB40 at age thirteen. The only way to hear UB on the radio back then was on a local Toronto station, CFNY. They had a weekly show that ran for an hour, and all they played was imported music from the UK. That was when I first fell in love with UB's music. Since then UB40 has been pretty constant listening for me. My taste in all other areas of music has changed over the years, but I have remained loyal to the sweet, rhythmic melodies of UB40. Almost every song brings a memory of some point in my life over the past fifteen years, which is invaluable to me."

MUSIC

"I enjoy everything from Bob Marley to Bob Dylan, and back again. My only exception is Country, whether it's new, old or long dead."

TOP 3 SONGS

"UB40 songs: 1. 'Groovin' ' 2. 'Dream A Lie' 3. 'Come Back Darling'

NON-UB songs: 1. 'No Woman No Cry' by Bob Marley 2. 'Tenderness' by General Public 3. 'Fire and Rain' by James Taylor"

THE JAMS POSSE

"The Jams Posse have been a welcoming and friendly bunch from day one and I think it’s fantastic that there’s a place to meet and talk about UB40 and to chat with people from all around the world. It’s amazing to me that a band has brought so many diverse people together as friends."

#UBJams CHAT

"The chats are hilarious! It’s so much fun to get to chat with the people you see on the message boards. I’ll never forget everyone listening to the live stream of UB40 at the House of Blues and everyone typing the lyrics as fast as they could, I laughed so hard that night, and it’s times like that one that make the chats so much fun."
